Cleansing Teas
Circulatory System Cleansing Tea
Echinacea root – 2 tsps.
Ginger root – 1 tsps.
Orange peel – 5 tsps.
Dandelion leaf – 3 Tbs.
Mullein – 5 Tbs.
Red clover tops – 5 Tbs.
Simmer Echinacea, orange peel and ginger for 20 minutes using 1 tsps. of herbs per cup of water. Remove from heat, add dandelion, clover & mullein (4 tsps. per cup) & steep for 15 minutes. Strain and drink. Drink for 7 days; a cup of tea 3 times daily.
(For a gentler cleanse, drink the tea for 3 or 4 days, then stop and begin again 3 or 4 days later for another 3 or 4 days).
Gastrointestinal Cleansing Tea
Fennel – 1 Tbs.
Flax – 1 Tbs.
Fenugreek – 1 tsps.
Burdock – 1 tsps.
Marshmallow – 3 tsps.
Peppermint – 3 tsps.
Simmer the first four herbs for 40 minutes using 1 tsp. of herbs per cup of water. Add peppermint & marshmallow (3/4 tsps. per cup of water). Steep for 15 minutes. Strain and drink. Drink for 7 days; a cup of tea, 4 times a day
Lymphatic Cleansing Tea
Yarrow – 3 tbs.
Peppermint – 3 tbs.
Elder flowers – 3 tbs.
Using 1 tbs. of herb mixture per cup of water, boil water, then remove from heat. Add herbs & steep for 15 minutes. Strain & drink. Drink after you finish drinking the first two teas on day 8 of your cleanse. Drink 2-3 cups before, during & after a sweating treatment, i.e. sauna, Jacuzzi, hot yoga, hot or steam bath, moderate exercise, lymphatic massage or any other treatment for inducing sweating.
